1The sons of Levi: Gershom (Gershon), Kohath, and Merari. 2And the sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. 3And the descendants of Amram: Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. The sons also of Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. 4Eleazar fathered Phinehas, Phinehas fathered Abishua, 5And Abishua fathered Bukki, and Bukki fathered Uzzi, 6And Uzzi fathered Zerahiah, and Zerahiah fathered Meraioth, 7Meraioth fathered Amariah, and Amariah fathered Ahitub, 8And Ahitub fathered Zadok, and Zadok fathered Ahimaaz, 9And Ahimaaz fathered Azariah, and Azariah fathered Johanan, 10And Johanan fathered Azariah, (he it is who served as priest in the Temple that Solomon built in Jerusalem), 11And Azariah fathered Amariah, and Amariah fathered Ahitub, 12And Ahitub fathered Zadok, and Zadok fathered Shallum, 13And Shallum fathered Hilkiah, and Hilkiah fathered Azariah, 14And Azariah fathered Seraiah, and Seraiah fathered Jehozadak, 15And Jehozadak went into captivity, when the LORD carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

16The sons of Levi: Gershom (Gershon), Kohath, and Merari. 17These are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni, and Shimei. 18And the sons of Kohath were, Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. 19The sons of Merari: Mahli, and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites according to their fathers. 20Of Gershom: Libni, his son; Jahath, his son; Zimmah, his son; 21Joah, his son; Iddo, his son; Zerah, his son; Jeatherai, his son. 22The sons of Kohath: Amminadab, his son; Korah, his son; Assir, his son; 23Elkanah, his son; and Ebiasaph, his son; and Assir his son; 24Tahath, his son; Uriel, his son; Uzziah, his son; and Shaul, his son. 25And the sons of Elkanah: Amasai, and Ahimoth. 26As for Elkanah; the sons of Elkanah: Zophai, his son; and Nahath, his son; 27Eliab, his son; Jeroham, his son; Elkanah, his son. 28And the sons of Samuel: the first-born Vashni, and Abijah. 29The sons of Merari: Mahli; Libni, his son; Shimei, his son; Uzza, his son; 30Shimei, his son; Haggiah, his son, Asaiah his son.

31And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the Temple of the LORD, after the ark was place there. 32And they ministered before the tabernacle, the tent of meeting with singing, until Solomon had built the Temple of the LORD in Jerusalem; and then they performed their duties according to their order. 33And these are they who served with their sons: Of the Kohathites: Heman, a singer, son of Joel, son of Shemuel, 34The son of Elkanah, son of Jeroham, son of Eliel, son of Toah, 35Son of Zuph, son of Elkanah, son of Mahath, son of Amasai, 36Son of Elkanah, son of Joel, son of Azariah, son of Zephaniah, 37Son of Tahath, son of Assir, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah, 38Son of Izhar, son of Kohath, son of Levi, son of Israel. 39And his brother, Asaph, who stood on his right hand, Asaph was a the son of Berachiah, son of Shimei, 40Son of Michael, son of Baaseiah, son of Malchijah, 41Son of Ethni, son of Zerah, son of Adaiah, 42Son of Ethan, son of Zimmah, son of Shimei, 43Son of Jahath, son of Gershom, son of Levi. 44And their brothers, the sons of Merari, stood on the left hand: Ethan, son of Kishi, son of Abdi, son of Malluch, 45Son of Hashabiah, son of Amaziah, son of Hilkiah, 46Son of Amzi, son of Bani, son of Shemer, 47Son of Mahli, son of Mushi, son of Merari, son of Levi.

48Their brothers, the Levites, were also appointed to all manner of service of the tabernacle of the house of God. 49But Aaron and his descendants were the ones who offered burnt offerings upon the altar, and on the altar of incense, and were assigned all the work of the place most holy, and to make an atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses, the servant of God, had commanded. 50And these are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar, his son; Phinehas, his son; Abishua, his son; 51Bukki, his son; Uzzi, his son; Zerahiah, his son; 52Meraioth, his son; Amariah, his son; Ahitub, his son; 53Zadok, his son; Ahimaaz, his son.

54This is the list of the towns and territories that were given by sacred lots to the progeny of Aaron, who were of the Kohath clan. 55They were given Hebron, in the land of Judah, 56But the fields of the Hebron, and its villages, they gave to Caleb, son of Jephunneh. 57To the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of Judah, namely, Hebron, the city of refuge, and these cities: Libnah, Jattir, Eshtemoa, 58Hilen, Debir, 59Ashan, and Beth-shemesh, each with their pastures (suburbs).

60And out of the tribe of Benjamin: Geba with its pastures; Alemeth; and Anathoth; each with its pastures. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.

61And to the rest of the descendants of Kohath, ten cities were allotted from the half tribe of Manasseh. 62And to the progeny of Gershom, clan by clan, were allotted from the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities. 63The sons of Merari, clan by clan, were allotted, out of the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun, twelve cities.

64So the Israelites gave to the Levites these cities with their pasture lands.

65And from the descendants of Judah, and of Simeon, and of Benjamin, the previously named cities.

66And the rest of the Kohathites were given these cities, with their pasture lands, from the territory of the tribe of Ephraim. 67And they gave them, Shechem, a city of refuge, in Mount Ephraim with its pastures; and they also gave them Gezer, 68Jokmeam, Beth-horon, 69Aijalon, and Gath-rimmon, each with its pasture lands; 70And out of the half tribe of Manasseh: Aner and Bileam, each with its pasture lands, were given to the rest of the sons of Kohath.

71The descendants of Gershom were given Golan in Bashan, and Ashtaroth, each with its pasture lands, out of the half tribe of Manasseh. 72And out of the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh, Daberath, 73Ramoth, and Anem, each with its pasture lands. 74And out of the tribe of Asher: Mashal, Abdon, 75Hukok, and Rehob, each with its pasture lands. 76And out of the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee, Hammon, and Kiri-ath-aim, each with its pasture lands.

77To the rest of the descendants of Merari were given out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmon, and Tabor, each with its pasture lands. 78And on the east side of the Jordan by Jericho, were given them out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness, Jahzah, 79Kedemoth, and Mephaath each with its pasture lands: 80And out of the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead, Mahanaim, 81Heshbon, and Jazer, each with its pasture lands.
