1And He said to me, “Son of man, stand upon your feet, and I will speak to you.” 2And the Spirit entered me when He spoke to me, and set me upon my feet, and I listened carefully to Him Who spoke to me. 3And He said to me, “Son of man, I send you to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against Me; they and their fathers have transgressed against Me until this very day. 4They are impudent and stubborn people that I am sending you to; and you shall tell them, ‘Thus says the LORD God.’ 5And whether they will hear, or refuse to listen (for they are a rebellious people), yet they shall know that there has been a prophet among them. 6And you, son of man, do not be intimidated by them, nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are all around you, and you live among scorpions; do not be frightened of their words, nor be bothered by their looks, even though they are rebels. 7And you shall speak My words to them, whether they will hear, or will reject My words; for they are indeed most rebellious. 8But you, son of man, listen to what I say to you: ‘Do not be rebellious like those people; open your mouth, and eat what I give you.’”

9And when I looked, behold, a hand was sent to me; and it held a scroll (roll of a book); 10And He spread it before me; and it was written on both inside and out; and there was written within it lamentations, mourning, and woe.
