1And in the twelfth year, the twelfth month, on the first day of the month, this word of the LORD came to me, 2Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and say to him, You think of yourself as a young lion among the nations, but you are like a monster in the seas; and you came thrashing about in your streams, stirring up mud and fouling the rivers.’ 3This is what the Sovereign God says: ‘I will send many people to spread My net over you, and they shall haul you up in My net. 4Then I will leave you stranded upon the land; I will throw you out in an open field, and will cause all the birds of the heaven to settle upon you, and the beasts of the whole earth will gorge themselves on you. 5And I will lay your flesh upon the mountains, and fill the valleys with your remains. 6I will also drench the land with your gushing blood, all the way to the mountains; and the ravines shall be full of your flesh. 7And when I snuff you out, I will cover the heavens, and darken the stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light. 8I will make all the bright lights of heaven above you dark, and bring darkness upon your land,’ says the LORD God. 9I will also trouble the hearts of many peoples, when I bring about your destruction among the nations, lands you have not known. 10Yes, I will cause many people to be appalled at you, and their kings shall shudder with horror because of you, when I shall brandish My sword before them; and they shall tremble every moment, everyone fearing for his own life, in the day of your fall.” 11This is what the Sovereign God says: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come against you. 12I will cause your multitude of warriors to fall by the swords of the mighty, most terrible of nations, and all their hordes; and they shall shatter the pride of Egypt, and all its hordes shall be destroyed. 13I will also destroy all your cattle from beside the great waters; nor shall the feet of man or the hoofs of beasts trouble the waters anymore. 14Then I will make their waters settle and calm; and your rivers to run as smooth as olive oil”, says the LORD God. 15When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate, and the country destitute of all that made it full, when I shall strike all those who dwell in it, then shall you know that I am the LORD. 16This is the lamentation with which they shall mourn for her; the daughters of the nations shall lament her - for Egypt, and for all her multitude.”, says the LORD God.

17In the twelfth year, the fifteenth day of the month, this word of the LORD came to me, 18“Son of man, wail for the many people of Egypt, and consign both her, and also the daughters of other famous nations, to the lower parts of the earth, with those who go down into the grave. 19Say to them, ‘Are you lovelier that the other nations? Go down, and lie in the pit with the uncircumcised.’ 20They shall fall in among those who are slain by the sword. Egypt is delivered to the sword; let her and all her multitudes be dragged off. 21From among the realm of the dead, the mighty shall say to Egypt and her allies out of the grave, ‘They have come down; they lie with the uncircumcised, slain by the sword.’ 22Asshur (Assyria) is there, and all her army; her graves are all about her; all of them slain, fallen by the sword: 23Their graves are set in the sides of the pit, and her army is all around her grave; all of them slain, fallen by the sword, they who caused terror in the land of the living. 24There is Elam, and all her army all about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who have gone down uncircumcised into the lower parts of the earth, they who caused terror in the land of the living; but have now borne their shame with those who go down to the pit. 25They have made her a bed among the slain, with all her hordes; her graves are all around her; all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword; though they caused terror in the land of the living, they have now borne their shame with those who go down to the pit; Elam is placed among those who are slain. 26Meshech and Tubal, and all their hordes are there; their graves are all about them; all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, though they caused their terror in the land of the living. 27But they that are of the uncircumcised shall not lie with the fallen mighty heroes, who have gone down to sheol with their weapons of war. They have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they had been the terror of the mighty in the land of the living. 28You, too, Pharaoh, shall be broken, and shall lie with the uncircumcised - those who are slain with the sword. 29There is Edom, her kings, and all her princes, who, despite their power, are laid with them who were slain by the sword; they shall lie with the uncircumcised, and with them who go down to the pit. 30There are all the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Sidonians, who have gone down with the slain; despite their might and terror, they are disgraced as they lie uncircumcised with those who are slain by the sword, and bear their shame with those who go down to the pit. 31Pharaoh - he and all his army - shall see them, and shall be consoled over all his army, slain by the sword”, says the LORD God. 32For although I have caused him to spread My terror in the land of the living, Pharaoh shall be laid among the uncircumcised, with those who are slain with the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude”, says the LORD God.
