1O LORD, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will praise Your name; for You have done wonderful things with faithfulness and truth; just as You have said long ago. 2For You have made of a city a heap of rubble; of a fortified city a ruin; a palace of a foreign city to disappear, never to be built again. 3Therefore strong people shall honor You; cities of ruthless nations shall fear You. 4You have been a refuge for the poor, and for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm, a shade from the heat, for the hot breath of the terrible ones is like blasts of a storm against the wall. 5Like the heat in a hot place is abated by the shadow of a cloud, You shall silence the noise of foreigners, the boastful song of the terrible people is stilled. 6And in this mountain shall the LORD Almighty prepare a feast of rich food for all people, a banquet of aged wines and the best meats. 7And He will destroy on this mountain the burial shroud that is cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations. 8He will swallow up death in victory; and the LORD God will wipe away tears from all faces; and He shall remove the disgrace of His people from all the earth. The LORD has spoken. 9And in that day it shall be said, “Surely This is our God; we have trusted in Him, and He has saved us: This is the LORD; we have waited for Him, we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.” 10For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, but Moab shall be trampled down like straw in the manure under Him. 11And He shall spread forth His hands over Moab like a swimmer spreads his hands to swim; and He shall bring down their pride together with their evil deeds. 12And He shall tear the walls of your fortress down to the ground, to the very dust.
