1Thus says the LORD: “Keep justice, and do righteously; for My salvation is coming soon, and My righteousness will soon be revealed. 2Blessed is the one that does this, and the person that holds it fast; who does not profane the Sabbath, and keeps from doing any evil. 3Let no foreigner who has committed himself to the LORD, say, ‘The LORD will surely exclude me from His people’; nor let the eunuch say, ‘I am only a dry tree.’ 4For the LORD says this to the eunuchs that keep My Sabbaths, and choose what pleases Me, and holds fast to My covenant: 5To them I will give a place and a name better than sons and daughters within My Temple and its walls; I will give them an everlasting name, that shall endure forever. 6And also the foreigners, that have accepted and put their trust in the LORD, to serve Him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants, every one that keeps from profaning the Sabbath, and abides by My covenant; 7These will I bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon My altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.” 8The sovereign LORD God, Who gathers the outcasts of Israel, says, “I will gather still others to Israel, besides those that are already gathered.” 9Come, all you wild animals of the field, come to feed greedily, yes, all you beasts of the forest. 10Israel’s watchmen - their leaders and priests - are blind; they are all ignorant, they are all dogs that cannot bark; lying around, sleeping, loving their slumber. 11Indeed, they are like greedy dogs that can never have enough, and they are shepherds without insight; they all go their own way, every one for his selfish gain. 12”Come”, they say, “I will fetch wine, and we will indulge ourselves in strong drink, and tomorrow shall be just like today, but with an even bigger party than today’s.” Reader-Friendly Bible: Purple Letter Edition © 2024 by Jim Musser.
