1And as Jesus was leaving the Temple, one of His disciples said to Him, “Master, look at these magnificent buildings and massive stones here! 2And Jesus, answered him, “Do you see these great buildings? There shall not be one stone left upon another, that will not be thrown down.” 3And as He sat upon the Mount of Olives, across from the Temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked Him privately, 4“Tell us, when shall these things happen? And what shall be the sign when they are about to happen?” 5And Jesus said, Take heed that no one deceives you; 6For many shall come in My name, saying, ‘I am Christ (the Messiah)’; and shall deceive many. 7And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled (alarmed); for such things must be; but the end shall not yet be. 8For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be earthquakes in various places, and there shall be famines and troubles; these are the beginnings of sorrows (birth pangs). 9But be on guard; for they shall hand you over to councils; and in the synagogues you shall be beaten; and be brought before governors and kings for My sake, for an opportunity testify of Me to them. 10For the gospel must first be proclaimed (preached) among all nations. 11But when they shall arrest you, and bring you to trial, take no thought beforehand about what you shall say, nor do you need to premeditate; but speak whatever shall be given to you in that hour; for it is not you that speaks, but the Holy Spirit. 12Now brother shall betray brother to death; and father, the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death. 13And you shall be hated by all men for My name’s sake; but he that endures to the end, the same shall be saved.”

14But when you shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it does not belong - let the reader understand - then let those that are in Judaea flee to the mountains; 15And let anyone that is on the housetop not go down into the house to get anything out of his house. 16And let no one that is in the field return to get his coat. 17But woe to those that are with child, and to them that are nursing in those days! 18And pray that your flight is not in the winter. 19For in those days there shall be unequalled distress - from the beginning, when God created the world, until now - nor ever shall be. 20And unless the Lord cuts short those days, no flesh should survive. But for the elect's sake, whom He has chosen, He has shortened those days. 21At that time, if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is Christ; or, ‘Look, He is there’; do not believe him; 22For false messiahs (christs) and false prophets shall appear and perform signs and wonders, to deceive and seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. 23Be on your guard; behold, I have told you everything ahead of time.”

24But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give its light, 25And the stars shall fall out of heaven, and the heavenly bodies shall be shaken. 26And then, shall they see the Son of man, coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27And then He shall send His angels, and gather His elect from the four winds, from the farthest parts of the earth to the ends of heaven. 28Now learn this from the fig tree: When its branch has become tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 29Even so, when you see these things happen, know that it is near, right at the door. 30Truly I tell you, that this generation shall not pass away, till all these things are done. 31Heaven and earth shall pass away; but My words shall never pass away. 32But of that day and that hour no man knows, no, not the angels who are in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”

33Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when that time is. 34For it is like the Son of man going away and leaving His servants in charge in His absence, with each given his work assignment, and He tells the doorkeeper to keep watch. 35Watch therefore; for you do not know when the Master of the house will return - at evening, at midnight, at cockcrow, or in the morning; 36And if He comes suddenly, do not let Him find you sleeping. 37And what I say to you I say to everyone: ‘Watch.’”
