1And the LORD said to Moses, 2“Give the children of Israel these instructions: ‘When you enter the land of Canaan; which I am giving to you for an inheritance with these boundaries, 3Your southern region shall extend from the wilderness of Zin along the border of Edom, and your southern border shall extend from the end of the Salt (Dead) Sea eastward. 4Then your border shall turn and continue to Zin, and then go south of Kadesh-barnea; and then it shall go to Hazaraddar and continue to Azmon. 5Then the border shall turn from Azmon to the brook (wadi) of Egypt, and end at the Mediterranean Sea. 6The western border will be the coastline of the Great (Mediterranean) Sea. 7And your northern boundary shall extend from the Great Sea east to Mount Hor. 8And from Mount Hor to Lebo-hamath, and then to Zedad; 9And then proceed to Ziphron, and end at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern border. 10For your eastern border you shall draw a line from Hazar-enan to Shepham, 11And then go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain; and then continue along the slopes east of the Sea of Chinnereth (Galilee). 12And then the boundary shall proceed along the Jordan, and end at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land with these boundaries.’”

13And Moses instructed the Israelites by saying, “This is the land you shall inherit by lot, which the LORD commanded to be given.to the nine and a half tribes, 14Because the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh, have already received their inheritance: 15They have received their inheritance on the east side of the Jordan near Jericho.”

16And the LORD said to Moses, 17“Eleazar, the priest, and Joshua, son of Nun, are the men who shall divide the land among you; 18And you shall take one leader of each tribe, to divide the land by inheritance. 19And these are names of those men: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb, son of Jephunneh. 20Of the tribe of Simeon, Shemuel, son of Ammihud. 21Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad, son of Chislon. 22And the leader of the tribe of Dan, Bukki, son of Jogli. 23The leader of the descendants of Joseph, for the tribe of Manasseh, Hanniel, son of Ephod. 24And the leader of the tribe of Ephraim, Kemuel, son of Shiphtan. 25And the leader of the tribe of Zebulun, Elizaphan, son of Parnach. 26And the leader of the tribe of Issachar, Paltiel, son of Azzan. 27And the leader of the tribe of Asher, Ahihud, son of Shelomi. 28And the leader of the tribe of Naphtali, Pedahel, son of Ammihud.” 29These are they whom the LORD chose to divide the inheritance to the Israelites in the land of Canaan.
