Psalm 135
Reader-Friendly Bible: Purple Letter EditionKJP

Upon moving of the Ark of the Covenant into the temple.

1Praise the LORD. Praise the name of the LORD; praise Him, O you servants of the LORD. 2You who minister in the Temple of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God, 3Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good; sing praises unto His name; for it is pleasant. 4For the LORD has chosen Jacob to be His Own, and Israel for His treasures. 5For I know that the LORD is great, greater than any so-called gods.

6The LORD does whatever pleases Him, both in heaven, and on earth, in the seas, and all depths. 7He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth; He makes lightning with the rain; He brings the wind out of His treasuries; 8Who struck down the first-born of Egypt, both of man and beast; 9He sent His signs and wonders into the midst of you, O Egypt, against Pharaoh, and all his people; 10He struck down many great nations, and their mighty kings: 11Sihon, king of the Amorites, Og, king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan, 12And He gave their land for an inheritance to His people, Israel. 13Your name, O LORD, endures forever, and Your renown, O LORD, throughout all generations. 14For the LORD will give justice to His people, and He will have compassion upon His servants.

15The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. 16They have mouths, but cannot speak; eyes, but cannot see; 17They have ears, but cannot hear; nor is there any breath in their mouths. 18Those who make them are like them; so is every one who trusts in them. 19Bless the LORD, all those of Israel; bless the LORD, O house of Aaron; 20Bless the LORD, O house of Levi. all who fear the LORD, bless the LORD. 21Praises be to the LORD from Zion, to Him Who dwells at Jerusalem. Praise the LORD.
