A Psalm of David

1The king (David) delights greatly in Your strength, O LORD; and rejoices in Your salvation 2You have granted him his heart's desire, and have not denied him his request. Selah. 3For You meet him with the blessings of goodness; You set a crown of pure gold on his head. 4He asked You for life, and You gave it to him, even eternal life. 5His glory is great through Your salvation; You have conferred honor and majesty upon him. 6For You have made him most blessed forever; and exceedingly glad for Your presence. 7For the king (David) trusts in the LORD, and through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be shaken.

8Your hand shall capture all Your enemies; Your right hand shall seize those who hate You. 9You shall burn them as a blazing oven in Your anger; the LORD shall consume them in His wrath; the fire shall devour them. 10You shall destroy them from the earth, and remove their posterity from mankind. 11For they planned evil against You; they devised a mischievous scheme, which will not succeed. 12For they will break and run when You shall aim Your arrows at them from Your bowstrings.

13Be ever exalted, LORD, in Your Own strength. We will sing and praise Your power.
