Psalm 3
Reader-Friendly Bible: Purple Letter EditionKJP

A psalm of David when he fled from his son Absalom.

1LORD, how they that trouble me are increased in number! Many have risen against me.

2Many are saying of me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah.

3But You, O LORD, are a shield for me; my glory, the One Who lifts up my head. 4I cried aloud unto the LORD, and He heard me out of His holy hill. Selah. 5I lay down and slept (safely); I awakened; for the LORD sustained me. 6I will not be afraid, even if ten thousand people surround me.

7Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God; for You have struck all my enemies upon the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.

8Salvation comes from the LORD; Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah.
