A Psalm of David

Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.

Hear my cry for help, my King and my God; for to You will I pray.

My voice shall You hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer to You, and wait with expectation.

For You are not a God Who has pleasure in wickedness; nor shall evil dwell with You.

An arrogant fool shall not stand before You; You hate all workers of iniquity.

You shall destroy those who tell lies; the LORD abhors violent and deceitful men.

But as for me, by Your abundant grace and mercy, I will enter Your house; and in awe and reverence of You, I will worship at Your holy Temple.

Lead me, O LORD, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; make Your way straight before me.

The mouths of my enemies utter evil and flattering lies; their throat is an open grave; with their tongue they tell lies.

Punish them, O God; let their own schemes trap them. Banish them for their many sins; and for rebelling against You.

But let all those who put their trust in You rejoice; and let them who love Your name ever be joyful in You, because You protect them;

For You, LORD, will surely bless the righteous; surrounding them with Your favor as with a shield.
