Titus 2
Reader-Friendly Bible: Purple Letter EditionKJP

1But teach these things that reflect sound doctrine, Titus: 2That the older men are to be sober-minded, disciplined, worthy of respect, of sound faith, showing love and patience; 3Likewise, the older women are to be reverent in the way they live, as becomes holiness, and not slander, nor over-indulge in wine, but teach others what is good, 4Encourage the young women to love their husbands, and to love and train their children, 5To be discreet, chaste, working at home for good, obedient to their husbands, that no shame is brought on the word of God. 6In the same way, encourage the young men to exercise self-control, 7And in all things, you must set an example by doing what is good: in doctrine, demonstrating integrity, seriousness, sincerity, 8With wholesome speech, that cannot be criticized; so that those of the opposition may be ashamed, because they have nothing bad to say of you. 9Urge slaves to be obedient to their own masters, and to try to please them well in all that they do; without grumbling; 10Not to steal or pilfer, but prove themselves trustworthy, so that faith in God, our Savior, is seen as attractive.

11For the grace of God that offers salvation has appeared to all men, 12Teaching us to turn from all ungodliness and worldly lusts, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives in this present age, 13As we wait for that blessed hope - the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14Who gave Himself for us, to redeem and cleanse us from all our sins, and to purify for Himself a people that are committed to righteous deeds. 15These things, then, preach and encourage, and, when necessary, reprimand with all authority. Let no one despise you.
