Zechariah 5

1Then I looked up again, and saw a flying scroll. 2And he asked me, “What do you see?” And I answered, “I see a flying scroll, twenty cubits (30 feet) long, and ten cubits (15 feet) wide.” 3Then said he to me, “This is the curse that is going out over the whole land; on the one side of the scroll, it says that everyone who steals shall be banished, according to what it says on the other side of the scroll; and everyone that swears falsely shall be banished from the land.” 4I will send it out”, says the LORD Almighty, “and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of anyone who swears falsely by My name; and it shall remain in that house, and shall destroy it completely - both its timber and its stones.”

5Then the angel who talked with me came forward and said to me, “Look up now and see what is coming.” 6And I asked, “What is it?” And he replied, “This is an ephah (a basket for measuring grain); and it is filled with the sins of everyone throughout the land.” 7And then the heavy lead lid was lifted off the basket, and there inside the basket sat a woman. 8And he said, “This is wickedness.” and he pushed her back into the basket; and he pushed its heavy lead lid back down on it. 9Then I looked up, and saw two women with wings before me; and the wind was in their wings; for their wings were like the wings of a stork; and they lifted the basket between heaven and earth. 10Then I asked the angel, “Where are they taking the basket? 11And he replied, “To the country of Babylonia to build it a house in the land of Shinar; and when it is ready, the basket will be set there upon its own base.”
