I. THE CLASSES OF BOOKS WHICH ARE PERNICIOUS. Those that —

1. Assail the truth of Christianity.

2. Oppose its holiness.

3. Destroy its temper.

II. THE DANGER WHICH ATTENDS THE INDISCIRIMINATE USE OF SUCH BOOKS arises from the fact that —

1. The human mind is naturally sceptical.

2. The human heart naturally licentious.

3. The human temper naturally trifling.
