Reasons why we should ask it of ourselves. I. We are in danger, as the disciples were, of being affected by the crude opinions of men about our Lord, and His religion, and His Church. II. The question is vital, for it asserts the great truth that only a deep, strong faith will ever inspire confidence in others. III. It shows us how dear to Christ is the personal faith of the soul.
