Trembling At God's Word
Isaiah 66:2
For all those things has my hand made, and all those things have been, said the LORD: but to this man will I look…

What meaneth this trembling? It does not mean a slavish fear. They that tremble at God's Word at the first may do so, because the word threatens them with death. But afterwards as they advance, and become familiar with the God of love, and enter into the secret of His covenant, they tremble for a very different reason. They tremble because they have a holy reverence of God, and consequently of that Word in which resides so much of the power and majesty of the Most High.
