Romans 4:1-25 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, has found?… I. THE FAITH OF ABRAHAM WAS A SIMPLE FAITH — a faith which asked for nothing but the word of God to rest upon. II. IT WAS AN OBEDIENT FAITH. It led him to do whatever God told him to do. And our faith is good for nothing unless it leads us to be like Abraham in this respect. III. IT WAS A CONQUERING FAITH — a faith which helped him to overcome the greatest difficulties. IV. ABRAHAM'S FAITH WAS A COMFORTING FAITH. (R. Newton, D. D.)
