A Lie
Romans 1:23
And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts…


I. AN IDOL IS A LIE.

1. As professing to be what it is not.

2. As deceiving him who trusts in it.

II. EVERYTHING OPPOSED TO GOD IS A LIE.

III. EVERYTHING IS A LIE which —

1. Disappoints man's hopes.

2. Fails to satisfy the cravings of his immortal soul.

IV. THAT LIFE IS A LIE which is not —

1. According to God's will.

2. Directed to His glory.

3. The realisation of His enjoyment.
