Romans 2:4
Or despise you the riches of his goodness and forbearance and long-suffering…


I. THE OBJECT OF GOD'S GOODNESS is —

1. To exhibit His perfections and to receive His creatures' praise.

2. To attach this to Himself in gratitude and love.

3. To lead them to obedience and a holy life.

II. GOD'S GOODNESS IS DESPISED.

1. When not duly noticed.

2. When not followed by grateful acknowledgment.

3. When the end aimed at in it is disregarded.
