Hebrews 3:12 Take heed, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.… We are prone to lay the stress of religion on the head and the outward conduct — on an orthodox faith and a correct life. But we make a grave mistake. Not with the head, but "with the heart man believeth unto righteousness." It is "an evil heart of unbelief" that is our greatest danger. 1. Because of the insidious character of such a moral state. An overt act we cannot hide from view, but an evil heart may have seduced us far away from God before we are conscious of it. 2.
