The Great Work
Nehemiah 6:3
And I sent messengers to them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease…

We learn from these words —

I. THAT NEHEMIAH WAS "DOING A GREAT WORK."

II. THAT THERE WERE THOSE WHO ENDEAVOURED TO HINDER HIM.

III. THAT THE MAGNITUDE OF THE WORK REQUIRED THAT HE SHOULD NOT CEASE OR ALLOW HIMSELF TO BE HINDERED FROM PROSECUTING IT.

IV. We may learn from the CONTEXT THAT NEHEMIAH SUCCEEDED IN ACCOMPLISHING THE WORK BY PRAYER AND PAINSTAKING DILIGENCE.
