Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; In a country village if a man has a few hundred pounds he is thought to be quite rich. In a large town a man must have several thousands. But when you come to London and frequent the Stock Exchange you inquire of so and so — Is he a rich man? And someone will perhaps reply, "Yes, yes, he is worth a hundred thousand pounds." Put the same question to a Rothschild with his millions, and he answers, "No! he is a little man: he is not rich: he only owns a hundred thousand pounds"; for these great bankers count their money by millions. Well, but what are these great Rothschilds with all their millions when they are reckoned up according to the wealth of heaven? The Lord alone is rich. God is so rich in mercy that you cannot tell how rich He is. His is overflowing riches, marvellous riches, exceeding riches. (C. H. Spurgeon.)
