Christian Steadfastness
1 Corinthians 16:13-14
Watch you, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.…


We address this to new converts, restored backsliders, and to Christians generally.

I. THE NECESSITY FOR CHRISTIAN STEADFASTNESS.

1. Many foes to contend against.

2. Much difficult service to perform.

3. Only the steadfast know true happiness and peace.

4. Lack of steadfastness is dishonouring to God.

II. ITS MEANS.

1. Prayer.

2. Watchfulness.

3. Use of every possible means of grace.

4. Faithful, open profession of allegiance to Christ.

III. ITS END.

1. A place on Christ's own throne (Revelation 3:21).

2. A crown of life (Revelation 2:10).

3. A call to the service of heaven.
