Why Our Lord Used Parables
Matthew 13:3
And he spoke many things to them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

1. As a means of attracting attention.

2. To prevent His auditors from being repelled by a too sudden revelation, either of His purpose or of His message.

3. To stimulate inquiry.

4. To test the character of His hearers.
