Acts 19:2-7 He said to them, Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed? And they said to him… How shall we know whether the Holy Spirit is dwelling in us? The tokens of His indwelling are such as cannot be mistaken. 1. One of them is the growing love of our neighbour which He works in us. 2. There is another test — the hatred of sin. 3. There is yet a third test — that of love of Christ in God. Let us ask Him to burn up all the wood and stubble wherewith we have been building in ourselves after a fashion of our own, and build up in us a sincere trust in Himself and His Son. (Abp. Thomsom.)
