Moral Increase
1 Corinthians 3:4-8
For while one said, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are you not carnal?…

I. ALL INCREASE IS OF GOD. The nature of the thing, Scripture and Christian experience alike show that God alone can give it.

II. THE MORAL INCREASE WHICH HE GIVES IS MOST GLORIOUS in —

1. Itself.

2. Its adaptation.

3. Its extent.

4. Its perplexities.

5. Its benevolence.

III. HE GIVES IT ALL ON A FIXED PRINCIPLE. There must be —

1. Personal.

2. United.

3. Believing.

4. Earnest.

5. Prayerful.

6. Persevering — labour.
