It is always to her children a benediction — a comfort. 2. By her love. Of a mother's love the child becomes deeply conscious as she strokes gently his fevered brow, or lifts upon him the light of her loving eyes. 3. By her food. She knows their needs and their tastes, and she gives nourishing and satisfying food. 4. By her words. There are three different kinds of experience common to men in this life which seem to require the presence of our mothers, and in each of these God has promised to be near us. 1.
