Mark 16:16 He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned. A good man was considerably harassed as to the nature of true faith, so resolved to ask the assistance of his minister. Going to the minister's house, he stated that his fears had been great, that he had sinned beyond the reach of mercy; but that, while he was thinking on the subject, there was suggested to his mind this text of Scripture, "The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin," and that resting on this truth he had lost all his anxiety.
