Numbers 8:24
"This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years of age or older shall enter to perform the service in the work at the Tent of Meeting.
“This applies to the Levites:

God set apart the Levites in place of Israel’s firstborn, who had been spared at the Passover (Numbers 3:12–13). Unlike the other tribes, they received no tribal territory but were given to the LORD for the care of His sanctuary. The priests descended from Aaron offered sacrifices, while the Levites assisted them, guarded the holy things, and taught God’s law among the people.

Men twenty-five years of age or older

Service began only after a period of physical, spiritual, and practical readiness. Numbers 4 assigns the more demanding duties of transporting the Tabernacle to Levites from thirty years old, while this provision admits them to service at twenty-five. The later retirement from strenuous duty at fifty preserved both the dignity of the work and the holiness of the sanctuary.

shall enter to perform the service

Levitical ministry was a divine appointment rather than a personal career. Their work protected Israel from improper approach to God’s dwelling and supported the priests in the worship God commanded. Faithful service required discipline, reverence, and obedience, qualities also required of those entrusted with leadership in the church.

in the work at the Tent of Meeting.

The Tabernacle stood at the center of Israel’s camp as the appointed place where God made His presence known. The Levites helped maintain the worship through which Israel remained in covenant fellowship with the LORD. Their ministry anticipated Christ, the true High Priest who entered the heavenly sanctuary and secured permanent access to God for His people.

Generational Roles in Ministry
The transition of service roles among the Levites suggests the importance of generational involvement in ministry. Encouraging younger generations to step into roles of service ensures the continuity of faith and practice.

Our Lord's Prayer for his People's Sanctification
In this wonderful prayer, our Lord, as our great High Priest, appears to enter upon that perpetual office of intercession which he is now exercising at the right hand of the Father. Our Lord ever seemed, in the eagerness of his love, to be anticipating his work. Before he was set apart for his life-work, by the descent of the Holy Ghost upon him, he must needs be about his Father's business; before he finally suffered at the hands of cruel men, he had a baptism to be baptized with, and he was straitened

"My Little Children, These Things Write I unto You, that Ye Sin Not. And if any Man Sin, we have an Advocate with the Father,",
1 John ii. 1.--"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father,", &c. Christ Jesus came by water and by blood, not by water only, but by blood also, and I add, not by blood only but by water also, chap. v. 6. In sin there is the guilt binding over to punishment, and there is the filth or spot that defileth the soul in God's sight. To take away guilt, nothing so fit as blood for there is no punishment beyond blood, therefore

Numbers
Like the last part of Exodus, and the whole of Leviticus, the first part of Numbers, i.-x. 28--so called,[1] rather inappropriately, from the census in i., iii., (iv.), xxvi.--is unmistakably priestly in its interests and language. Beginning with a census of the men of war (i.) and the order of the camp (ii.), it devotes specific attention to the Levites, their numbers and duties (iii., iv.). Then follow laws for the exclusion of the unclean, v. 1-4, for determining the manner and amount of restitution
