Marriage to Achsah

Othniel's marriage to Achsah, Caleb's daughter, is a notable event in his life. Caleb promised his daughter in marriage to whoever would capture the city of Kiriath-sepher (Debir). Demonstrating his bravery and military prowess, Othniel successfully conquered the city and received Achsah as his wife (Judges 1:12-13; Joshua 15:16-17). Role as a Judge

He went out to war, and the LORD delivered Cushan-Rishathaim king of Aram into his hand, so that Othniel prevailed against him."
