1 Maccabees 2:48
Good News Translation
They rescued the Law of Moses from the Gentiles and their kings and broke the power of the wicked King Antiochus.

They rescued the law out of the hands of the Gentiles and kings, and they never let the sinner gain the upper hand.

because they defended their laws against the Gentiles and Antiochus. No evil person stood a chance.
