Sirach 46:13
Good News Translation
Samuel was loved by the Lord. As the Lord's prophet he established the kingdom and appointed rulers for the people.

Samuel was beloved by his Lord; a prophet of the Lord, he established the kingdom and anointed rulers over his people.

Contemporary English Version
The Lord loved Samuel, the prophet who appointed the first kings of Israel and other rulers.

Beloved of his people, dear to his Maker, pledged in a vow from his mother’s womb, As one consecrated to the LORD in the prophetic office, was , the judge who offered sacrifice. At God’s word he established the kingdom and anointed princes to rule the people.
