1I waited patiently for the LORD; and He turned to me, and heard my cry. 2He lifted me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, a firm place to stand. 3And He has put a new song in my mouth, even song of praise to our God; many shall see what He has done, and shall trust in the LORD. 4Blessed is that man who trusts in the LORD, and not the arrogant, nor those who turn aside to lies. 5Many, O LORD my God, are the wonderful works which You have done, and Your thoughts toward us; there none who can compare with You; if I would try to declare or speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

6You have not desired sacrifice and meal offering; You have opened my ears to the fact that burnt offerings and sin offerings are not what You desire. 7Then I said, “Look, I have come; as is written of Me in the Scriptures: 8I delight to do Your will, O my God; yea, Your law is within My heart”. 9I have preached righteousness in the great congregation; lo, I have not restrained My lips, O LORD, You know. 10I have not hidden Your righteousness within My heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation. I have not concealed Your loving-kindness and Your truth from the great congregation. 11Do not withhold Your tender mercies from Me, O LORD; let Your loving-kindness and Your truth continually preserve Me. 12For troubles beyond numbering surround me. My many sins have caught up with me; they are more numerous than the hairs of my head, such that I cannot see clearly; and am in despair. 13Please rescue me; O LORD; send me help quickly. 14Let those who seek my destruction be humiliated and confused; let them who wish me harm be driven backward and discredited. 15Let them who say to me, “Aha, aha”, receive a reward of shame. 16But let all those who seek You rejoice in You and Your salvation say continually, “The LORD be magnified”. 17But I am poor and needy; yet the LORD thinks upon me. You are my help and my deliverer, O my God; please do not delay.
