Psalm 41
Easy Reader Bible: Purple Letter EditionKJP
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

1Blessed is he who cares for the poor; the LORD will rescue him in time of trouble. 2The LORD will preserve his life; and he shall prosper upon the earth, and You will protect him from the will of his enemies. 3The LORD will sustain him upon hid sick bed; You will restore his strength in his sickness.

4I said, “LORD, be merciful unto me; heal my soul; for I have sinned against You”. 5My enemies say of me, “When will he die, and his name be forgotten?” 6And if one of them comes to see me, he speaks with deceit to gather gossip, which he then spreads abroad. 7All my adversaries conspire against me; planning to do me harm. 8“An awful disease”, they say, “has confined him to a bed from which he shall never rise again”. 9Yea, even my close friend, that I trusted, and ate with, has turned against me. 10But You, O LORD, be gracious to me, that I may rise up and pay them back. 11By this I know that You favor me, because my enemy has not triumphed over me. 12You uphold me in my innocence, and allow me to be in Your presence forever.

13Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

Maschil, for the sons of Korah
