1And the word of LORD JEHOVAH came unto me, saying 2Do not take yourself a wife, and you shall not have sons or daughters in this place 3Because, thus says LORD JEHOVAH about the sons and about the daughters who are born in this place, and about their mothers who brought them forth, and about their fathers who begot them in this place: 4“They will die the death of those hit with starvation. They shall not mourn for them and they shall not be buried, but they shall be as a dung heap on the face of the land, and with sword and with starvation they shall be consumed, and their corpses shall be food for birds of the sky and for the beasts of the Earth

5Because, thus says LORD JEHOVAH: “You shall not go to the house of mourning, and you shall not go to mourn and you shall not tremble for them, because I have removed my peace from this people, says LORD JEHOVAH, and grace and affections 6And the great ones and the common shall die in this land. They shall not be buried, and they shall not mourn over them, neither shall they howl or shave bald for them 7And they shall not clip themselves for them in mourning, that they may be comforted for the dead, and they shall not drink them a cup of comfort for their fathers and for their mothers 8And you shall not enter a house of feasting to dwell with them, to eat and to drink 9Because thus says LORD JEHOVAH of Hosts, God of Israel: “Behold, I bring to nothing in your sight, and in your days, the sound of dancing, and the sound of joy, the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride from this place

10And if you will show this people all these words, they will say to you: why has LORD JEHOVAH spoken against us all this great evil? What is our debt and what is our sin that we have sinned against LORD JEHOVAH our God? 11Say to them: “Why have your fathers forsaken me, says LORD JEHOVAH, and they went after other gods and served them and bowed to them, and they left me and they did not keep my law 12And you have done more evil than your fathers, and behold, you are going, each man, after the will of your evil heart, that you will not listen to me 13And I shall cast you out from this land to a land that you do not know, you and your fathers, and you shall serve other gods there by day and by night, and I shall not give you favor”

14Because of this, behold, the days are coming, says LORD JEHOVAH, and it will not be said again, “Living is LORD JEHOVAH who brought forth those of the house of Israel from the land of Egypt” 15But “Living is LORD JEHOVAH who would go up and he would bring those of the house of Israel from the land of the north and from every region to which I drove them out, and I shall lead them to their land that I gave to their fathers”

16Behold, I am sending many fishermen, says LORD JEHOVAH, and they shall catch them, and after that I shall send many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and from every hill and from the caves of the cliffs 17Because my eyes are on all their ways, and they are not hid from before me, and their evil is not hidden from before my eyes 18And I shall pay them first, double their debts each, and their sins, because they polluted my land by the sacrifices of their idols, and with their abominations they have filled my inheritance

19LORD JEHOVAH, my power and my helper, and house of my refuge in the day of affliction! To you the nations will come from the ends of the Earth, and they shall say, “Truly, the idols of falsehood that our fathers inherited are nothing and there is no value in them!”

20Behold, the children of men made gods for themselves, and those are not gods

21Because of this, behold, I am showing to them and at this season I will make known to them my hand and my power, and they shall know that LORD JEHOVAH is my name
