2For if it was not LORD JEHOVAH who stood for us when the children of men stood up against us,

3They would have swallowed us alive, and when their rage was provoked upon us,

4The waters would have overwhelmed us; the stream would have passed over our soul.

5And many waters passed over our soul!

6Blessed is LORD JEHOVAH who has not given us as food for their teeth!

7Our soul is like a sparrow escaped from a snare of prey; the snare was broken and we were delivered!

8And our help is in The Name of LORD JEHOVAH, he who made Heaven and Earth!
