Holman Christian Standard Bible
So Gideon sent all the Israelites to their tents but kept the 300 , who took the people’s provisions and their trumpets. The camp of Midian was below him in the valley.

So the 300 men took the people's provisions and their trumpets into their hands. And Gideon sent all the [other] men of Israel, each to his tent, but retained the 300 men; and the camp of Midian was below him in the valley.

So the soldiers took provisions with them, along with their trumpets, and Gideon sent all the rest of the soldiers of Israel back to their own tents, but he retained the 300 men. And the Midian encampment was below him in the valley.
