To the chief Musician upon Hagittith. A Psalm of David 1 O Jehovah, our Lord! How wonderful is thy name in all the earth, To set thy glory above the heavens! 2 Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings Thou hast founded thy strength, because of thy adversaries, To put to flight the enemy and the avenger. 3 When! see thy heavens, the works of thy fingers; The moon and the stars which thou hast arranged: 4 What is man that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5 For thou hast made him lower a little than God, And with glory and honor thou hast crowned him. 6 Thou hast set him over the works of thy hands: All things thou hast put under his feet. 7 Sheep and oxen, all of them, And also the beasts of the fields; 8 The fowl of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, And whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. 9 O Jehovah, our Lord! How wonderful is thy name in all the earth! |
