The Wiles of the Harlot 1My son, keep my words And treasure my commandments within you.
Keep my commandments and live,
Bind them on your fingers;
Say to wisdom, You are my sister,
That they may keep you from an adulteress,
For at the window of my house
And I saw among the naive,
Passing through the street near her corner;
In the twilight, in the evening,
And behold, a woman comes to meet him,
She is boisterous and rebellious,
She is now in the streets, now in the squares,
So she seizes him and kisses him
I was due to offer peace offerings;
Therefore I have come out to meet you,
I have spread my couch with coverings,
I have sprinkled my bed
Come, let us drink our fill of love until morning;
For my husband is not at home,
He has taken a bag of money with him,
With her many persuasions she entices him;
Suddenly he follows her
Until an arrow pierces through his liver;
Now therefore, my sons, listen to me,
Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways,
For many are the victims she has cast down,
