Hallelujah! Happy is the person who fears the LORD, taking great delight in his commands. | 1Praise the LORD! How blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who greatly delights in His commandments. |
His descendants will be powerful in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. | 2His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. |
Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. | 3Wealth and riches are in his house, And his righteousness endures forever. |
Light shines in the darkness for the upright. He is gracious, compassionate, and righteous. | 4Light arises in the darkness for the upright; He is gracious and compassionate and righteous. |
Good will come to the one who lends generously and conducts his business fairly. | 5It is well with the man who is gracious and lends; He will maintain his cause in judgment. |
He will never be shaken. The righteous one will be remembered forever. | 6For he will never be shaken; The righteous will be remembered forever. |
He will not fear bad news; his heart is confident, trusting in the LORD. | 7He will not fear evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. |
His heart is assured; he will not fear. In the end he will look in triumph on his foes. | 8His heart is upheld, he will not fear, Until he looks with satisfaction on his adversaries. |
He distributes freely to the poor; his righteousness endures forever. His horn will be exalted in honor. | 9He has given freely to the poor, His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted in honor. |
The wicked one will see it and be angry; he will gnash his teeth in despair. The desire of the wicked leads to ruin. | 10The wicked will see it and be vexed, He will gnash his teeth and melt away; The desire of the wicked will perish. |
