| 1O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. | 1O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. |
| 2So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. | 2I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. |
| 3Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. | 3Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! |
| 4So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands. | 4I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. |
| 5My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, | 5You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy. |
| 6when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; | 6I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night. |
| 7for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. | 7Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. |
