Psalm 127
ISV Parallel BSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionBerean Study Bible
1Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor uselessly. Unless the LORD guards the city, its security forces keep watch uselessly.1A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain; unless the LORD protects the city, its watchmen stand guard in vain.
2It is useless to get up early and to stay up late, eating the food of exhausting labor— truly he gives sleep to those he loves.2In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for bread to eat—for He gives sleep to His beloved.
3Children are a gift from the LORD; a productive womb, the LORD's reward.3Children are indeed a heritage from the LORD, and the fruit of the womb is His reward.
4As arrows in the hand of a warrior, so also are children born during one's youth.4Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are children born in one’s youth.
5How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be ashamed as they confront their enemies at the city gate.5Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. He will not be put to shame when he confronts the enemies at the gate.
