To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song. God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. | 1May God be merciful and bless us. May his face smile with favor on us. Interlude |
That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. | 2May your ways be known throughout the earth, your saving power among people everywhere. |
Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. | 3May the nations praise you, O God. Yes, may all the nations praise you. |
O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah. | 4Let the whole world sing for joy, because you govern the nations with justice and guide the people of the whole world. Interlude |
Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. | 5May the nations praise you, O God. Yes, may all the nations praise you. |
Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. | 6Then the earth will yield its harvests, and God, our God, will richly bless us. |
God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. | 7Yes, God will bless us, and people all over the world will fear him. |
