Psalm 11
NET Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew International Version
1For the music director; by David. In the LORD I have taken shelter. How can you say to me, "Flee to a mountain like a bird! 1For the director of music. Of David. In the LORD I take refuge. How then can you say to me: "Flee like a bird to your mountain.
2For look, the wicked prepare their bows, they put their arrows on the strings, to shoot in the darkness at the morally upright. 2For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart.
3When the foundations are destroyed, what can the godly accomplish?" 3When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?"
4The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD's throne is in heaven. His eyes watch; his eyes examine all people. 4The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD is on his heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them.
5The LORD approves of the godly, but he hates the wicked and those who love to do violence. 5The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion.
6May the LORD rain down burning coals and brimstone on the wicked! A whirlwind is what they deserve! 6On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot.
7Certainly the LORD is just; he rewards godly deeds; the upright will experience his favor. 7For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; the upright will see his face.
