| 1A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah. You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. | 1O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. |
| 2I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. | 2I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. |
| 3Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. | 3Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! |
