| 2His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. | 2His descendants will be powerful on the earth; the godly will be blessed. |
| 3Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness endures forever. | 3His house contains wealth and riches; his integrity endures. |
| 4Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. | 4In the darkness a light shines for the godly, for each one who is merciful, compassionate, and just. |
| 5A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion. | 5It goes well for the one who generously lends money, and conducts his business honestly. |
| 6Surely he will never be shaken; The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. | 6For he will never be upended; others will always remember one who is just. |
