Psalm 62
NKJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew Living Translation
To the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation.1I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.2He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.
How long will you attack a man? You shall be slain, all of you, Like a leaning wall and a tottering fence.3So many enemies against one man— all of them trying to kill me. To them I’m just a broken-down wall or a tottering fence.
They only consult to cast him down from his high position; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, But they curse inwardly. Selah4They plan to topple me from my high position. They delight in telling lies about me. They praise me to my face but curse me in their hearts. Interlude
My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.5Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.
He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.6He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.
In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.7My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah8O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. Interlude
Surely men of low degree are a vapor, Men of high degree are a lie; If they are weighed on the scales, They are altogether lighter than vapor.9Common people are as worthless as a puff of wind, and the powerful are not what they appear to be. If you weigh them on the scales, together they are lighter than a breath of air.
Do not trust in oppression, Nor vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, Do not set your heart on them.10Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life.
God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God.11God has spoken plainly, and I have heard it many times: Power, O God, belongs to you;
Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; For You render to each one according to his work.12unfailing love, O Lord, is yours. Surely you repay all people according to what they have done.
