New Living Translation | Berean Study Bible |
I give you thanks, O LORD, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods. | 1Of David. I give You thanks with all my heart; before the gods I sing Your praises. |
I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name. | 2I bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your loving devotion and Your faithfulness; You have exalted Your name and Your word above all else. |
As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength. | 3On the day I called, You answered me; You emboldened me and strengthened my soul. |
Every king in all the earth will thank you, LORD, for all of them will hear your words. | 4All the kings of the earth will give You thanks, O LORD, when they hear the words of Your mouth. |
Yes, they will sing about the LORD’s ways, for the glory of the LORD is very great. | 5They will sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great. |
Though the LORD is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud. | 6Though the LORD is on high, He attends to the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar. |
Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me. | 7If I walk in the midst of trouble, You preserve me from the anger of my foes; You extend Your hand, and Your right hand saves me. |
The LORD will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. | 8The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me. O LORD, Your loving devotion endures forever—do not abandon the works of Your hands. |
