| 1“This is what the Sovereign LORD says: The east gateway of the inner courtyard will be closed during the six workdays each week, but it will be open on Sabbath days and the days of new moon celebrations. | 1"This is what the Lord GOD says: 'The inner, east-facing courtyard is to remain shut during the six working days of the week, but on the Sabbath day it is to be opened, as well as on the day of the New Moon. |
| 2The prince will enter the entry room of the gateway from the outside. Then he will stand by the gatepost while the priest offers his burnt offering and peace offering. He will bow down in worship inside the gateway passage and then go back out the way he came. The gateway will not be closed until evening. | 2The Regent Prince is to enter through the portico of the gate from outside and is to stand at the doorframe of the gate where the priests are to present the Regent Prince's burnt offerings and peace offerings. Then the Regent Prince is to worship at the threshold of the gate and go out. The gate is not to be closed until evening. |
| 3The common people will bow down and worship the LORD in front of this gateway on Sabbath days and the days of new moon celebrations. | 3The people who live in the land are to worship at the doorway of the gate on the Sabbaths and New Moons in the LORD's presence.'" |
| 4“Each Sabbath day the prince will present to the LORD a burnt offering of six lambs and one ram, all with no defects. | 4"'The burnt offering that the Regent Prince is to present to the LORD on the Sabbath day is to consist of six lambs without defect, a ram without defect, |
| 5He will present a grain offering of a basket of choice flour to go with the ram and whatever amount of flour he chooses to go with each lamb, and he is to offer one gallon of olive oil for each basket of flour. | 5a grain offering with the ram consisting of an ephah, a grain offering with the lambs consisting of whatever amount he brings with him, and a hin of oil with each ephah of grain. |
| 6At the new moon celebrations, he will bring one young bull, six lambs, and one ram, all with no defects. | 6Furthermore, each New Moon there is to be a young bull presented without defect, six male lambs, and a ram without defect. |
| 7With the young bull he must bring a basket of choice flour for a grain offering. With the ram he must bring another basket of flour. And with each lamb he is to bring whatever amount of flour he chooses to give. With each basket of flour he must offer one gallon of olive oil. | 7The Regent Prince is to present an ephah of grain along with the bull, an ephah of grain along with the ram, a grain offering—consisting of as much as he is able to give—and a hin of olive oil with each ephah of grain. |

| 9But when the people come in through the north gateway to worship the LORD during the religious festivals, they must leave by the south gateway. And those who entered through the south gateway must leave by the north gateway. They must never leave by the same gateway they came in, but must always use the opposite gateway. | 9When the people who live in the land come into the LORD's presence during the festivals, whoever enters through the northern gate is to leave through the southern gate, and whoever enters through the southern gate is to leave through the northern gate. No one is to leave by the same route that he enters, but instead is to go straight out. |
| 10The prince will enter and leave with the people on these occasions. | 10The Regent Prince is to enter when they are coming in, and he is to leave when they go out.'" |
| 11“So at the special feasts and sacred festivals, the grain offering will be a basket of choice flour with each young bull, another basket of flour with each ram, and as much flour as the worshiper chooses to give with each lamb. Give one gallon of olive oil with each basket of flour. | 11"'The grain offering for the festivals and appointed festivals is to include an ephah with a bull, an ephah with a ram, and as much grain with the lambs as the Regent Prince brings with him, along with a hin of oil with each ephah. |
| 12When the prince offers a voluntary burnt offering or peace offering to the LORD, the east gateway to the inner courtyard will be opened for him, and he will offer his sacrifices as he does on Sabbath days. Then he will leave, and the gateway will be shut behind him. | 12Whenever the Regent Prince presents a voluntary offering, burnt offering, or peace offering, he is to present it voluntarily to the LORD, and the east-facing gate is to be opened for him. He is to provide his burnt offering and peace offering as he does on the Sabbath. When he leaves, the gate is to be shut behind him. |
| 13“Each morning you must sacrifice a one-year-old lamb with no defects as a burnt offering to the LORD. | 13He is to present a one year old lamb without defect for a burnt offering to the LORD in the morning every day. |
| 14With the lamb, a grain offering must also be given to the LORD—about three quarts of flour with a third of a gallon of olive oil to moisten the choice flour. This will be a permanent law for you. | 14In addition, he is to present a grain offering with it every morning, consisting of a sixth of an ephah mixed with one third of a hin of oil. This grain offering is to be offered to the LORD as a permanent ordinance. |
| 15The lamb, the grain offering, and the olive oil must be given as a daily sacrifice every morning without fail. | 15They are to present the lamb offering, the grain offering, and the oil every morning as an ongoing burnt offering.'" |
| 16“This is what the Sovereign LORD says: If the prince gives a gift of land to one of his sons as his inheritance, it will belong to him and his descendants forever. | 16"This is what the Lord GOD says: 'If the Regent Prince gives a gift to someone, it is to remain with the man's descendants as their own inheritance. |
| 17But if the prince gives a gift of land from his inheritance to one of his servants, the servant may keep it only until the Year of Jubilee, which comes every fiftieth year. At that time the land will return to the prince. But when the prince gives gifts to his sons, those gifts will be permanent. | 17But if he gives a gift to any of his servants, it is to belong to the servant until the Year of Release, at which time it is to be returned to the Regent Prince. His inheritance is to belong only to his sons. |
| 18And the prince may never take anyone’s property by force. If he gives property to his sons, it must be from his own land, for I do not want any of my people unjustly evicted from their property.” The Temple Kitchens | 18The Regent Prince is not to appropriate the nation's inheritance nor take advantage of them by taking their property from them. | 19In my vision, the man brought me through the entrance beside the gateway and led me to the sacred rooms assigned to the priests, which faced toward the north. He showed me a place at the extreme west end of these rooms. | 19Then the angel brought me in through an entrance beside the gate into the north-facing chambers dedicated to the priests. | 20He explained, “This is where the priests will cook the meat from the guilt offerings and sin offerings and bake the flour from the grain offerings into bread. They will do it here to avoid carrying the sacrifices through the outer courtyard and endangering the people by transmitting holiness to them.” | 20about which he said, "This is where the priests will be boiling the guilt and sin offerings and baking the grain offerings so they don't bring them through the outer courtyard, thus diminishing the people's holiness." |
| 21Then he brought me back to the outer courtyard and led me to each of its four corners. In each corner I saw an enclosure. | 21Then he brought me out to the exterior courtyard and led me across to each of the four corners of the courtyard. There in each corner was an enclosed area set aside, |
| 22Each of these enclosures was 70 feet long and 52 1/2 feet wide, surrounded by walls. | 22all of them the same size; that is, each was 40 cubits long and 30 cubits wide. |
| 23Along the inside of these walls was a ledge of stone with fireplaces under the ledge all the way around. | 23A low wall built of masonry surrounded each courtyard, with boiling places set in rows in the wall. |
| 24The man said to me, “These are the kitchens to be used by the Temple assistants to boil the sacrifices offered by the people.” | 24He told me, "This is where the ministers of the Temple will be preparing the sacrifices that will be presented by the people. |
