| 1How the king rejoices in your strength, O LORD! He shouts with joy because you give him victory. | 1For the music director; a psalm of David. O LORD, the king rejoices in the strength you give; he takes great delight in the deliverance you provide. |
| 2For you have given him his heart’s desire; you have withheld nothing he requested. Interlude | 2You grant him his heart's desire; you do not refuse his request. (Selah) |
| 3You welcomed him back with success and prosperity. You placed a crown of finest gold on his head. | 3For you bring him rich blessings; you place a golden crown on his head. |
| 4He asked you to preserve his life, and you granted his request. The days of his life stretch on forever. | 4He asked you to sustain his life, and you have granted him long life and an enduring dynasty. |
| 5Your victory brings him great honor, and you have clothed him with splendor and majesty. | 5Your deliverance brings him great honor; you give him majestic splendor. |

| 12For they will turn and run when they see your arrows aimed at them. | 12For you make them retreat when you shoot your arrows at them. |
| 13Rise up, O LORD, in all your power. With music and singing we celebrate your mighty acts. | 13Rise up, O LORD, in strength! We will sing and praise your power! |
